YOU Series- Someone's stalking you, keep your eyes open and social media handles private!
Did you ever have a feeling of a punching a person in his stomach and kissing him too? Well, after watching YOU series, these feelings might become prominent. Netflix presents another original show which promises to be thrilling and romantic at the same time, and exceptionally lives up to our expectation.
So, if you haven’t watched "You series" yet, then I must warn you that there are some spoiler alerts ahead!
Joe or Joesph is a man who thinks that he has all the right to invade in the privacy of a woman just because
1) she came to his bookstore.
2) called him out by seeing his name on the badge that he is wearing.
And on these theories, our man starts to look up into the social life of the girl that we just mentioned. He finds her name and social media handles even before she pays the bill and comes to know that has to go on a life-saving mission. As he already knew her name is Beck(as she prefers to be called), it isn't difficult for him to get a sneak-peek in her life. After this incident, he goes on to follow her, I mean, who does it? But our man Joe is determined to offer his services to the lady. And there are a lot of incidents in the series that shows that if Joe was not following Beck, she would have been dead right in the starting of the series, which would have been a heartbreaking experience. Beck’s life as our man Joe describes, is a complete mess, and he also questions her taste in friends. In the series, Beck has a girl gang, and there is one particular friend who is really close to Beck that even Joe finds it quite weird but Beck doesn't, probably because she is her best friend. But, is it so? Or there is a hidden motive behind this friendship that Beck is unaware of. And, while Joe starts to dig deep into her intensions, we see a glimpse of his past relationship that he never talks about. At some point in the series, we see Joe getting haunted by the past memories so much that we are compelled that this man is fishy, but as if stalking a girl who he has just entered his bookstore isn’t enough to judge him! Duh!
As the series proceeds, Joe becomes that man who can do anything for his lady love so that she can concentrate on her dreams which is to become a writer, even if it requires killing people too. Joe is portrayed as a killer, and you must be thinking that the audience must have loathed him, but the response is actually the opposite, we can’t help but fall for this evil guy who does good things when he isn’t busy being an evil person. We see him making breakfast for Beck, and helping Paco, a kid in the neighbourhood, from his mother’s abusive boyfriend. We end up thinking that he the perfect, sensible guy who is so good to be true in real life and starts hoping that Beck realises it too. There are two incidences when she actually notices how her life has changed after Joe, but it’s the second time she has to pay the price for realising her mistake.
Overall, “You Series Netflix” delivers what "You Series" promises to deliver, thrill and romance and a lesson:
And that is, next time when you move into that bookstore and that silent looking bookkeeper smiles at you innocently, don’t initiate a conversation and don't ever leave your Instagram to handle public. I said DON’T!
