LOOTCASE- A comedy that bounds to make you forget 2020 for a while
Imagine a typical middle-class Indian man going to a public toilet and coming out as a millionaire I bet after reading it or listening to him, every other Indian man who pees openly would start using a public toilet instead. If you're thinking that loot case could be the other "Toilet-Ek Prem Katha", then you might be a little wrong or completely wrong. Lootcase is a story of a man from going rags to riches and vice-a-versa for the other characters in the story while making you laugh.
The story starts, and we meet a normal-looking aam-Adami "Nandan" who is coming home after completing his shift and stops to pee. Any person who could be at his place would run fun fast home or blow a cigarette, but unlike any normal man, he bumps into the trash, and a suitcase fell. Intrigued by the same, he dares to open it up by looking at every possible direction for its owner. And, as he opens it, it seems like he has opened his fate too. The bag is filled with cash up to the brim. At first, he is shocked and looks for any sign of a human around, and then he asks out loud in a scared voice to check for the owner. The moment he hears nothing, he runs away with the cash and luckily finds an auto too. The driver is curious and suspects him of carrying a dead body, Nandan dismisses his idea and acts to talk on a phone call. He loudly announces that he has just stepped in Mumbai for the first time and is going to stay at his friend's place. He clears on the call that the suitcase has bundles of clothes and nothing else to clear out the driver's doubts. But, his problems don't end here. He now has to hide the big fat suitcase from his darling wife so she couldn't trace it. Nandan suddenly remembers that he has the keys of the neighbouring house and hides it there. However, in the coming days, this bag changes his life dramatically. He is able to do anything and can spend the money just as he wants, like an upper-middle-class person. He buys A.C, oven, and takes his family to places he could never afford otherwise. His wife is suspicious but trusts her husband. While Nandan is enjoying his life to the fullest, on the other side of the world, the owner of the suitcase is restless and is eager to find it. All the characters are interesting, as well as intriguing; when MLA Patil(Gajraj Rao) hears the news of the suitcase he is bewildered, but he wants to sort this matter calmly. Unlike any powerful man scaring people to do work for him, his sarcasm is enough to make the other person realise the power that he holds. The other party, who was to steal the suitcase is even enthralling. Baal Rathore(Vijay Raaz) is another interesting character who seems to take his inspiration from NatGeo, and never forgets to cite an example whenever he explains anything.
When Baal Rathore comes to know that his man missed the chance to steal the bag, he losses his cool. Both MLA Patil and Baal Rathore wonder as to who might have taken away the suitcase. MLA Patil knows if he isn't able to find the bag, he'll be in big trouble because it doesn't just contain money, but something else too.
The happy time of the Nandan family comes to a halt when police inspector Kolte (Ranveer Shorey) decides to take the case in his hand after MLA persuades him to do so. Would Kolte be able to get a hold on him?
There isn't any dull moment in the movie that would give you time to yawn. Kunal Khemu does justice to the part, and Rasika Dugal is as brilliant as ever. If you want to take a break from all the thriller and crime shows, then this is a movie would be perfect.
